This bill foists uneconomic energy storage upon Nevada’s electric ratepayers and lacks sufficient evidence that it can succeed on a large-scale basis.  It fails to calculate the cost of maintaining duplicate electric supply systems (battery storage and traditional fossil fuels).  It fails to recognize that there is no preeminent energy storage system available given the limitations of engineering, physics and cost.  It also proposes to include all known and measurable benefits and costs without limitation, including intangible ‘social’ benefits and costs of comfort and health, which are virtually impossible to represent accurately.
